LeWeb09 the program

This year theme will be the Real-Time.

Check out the presentation made by Loïc and Géraldine

And as everyday Loïc & Géraldine manage to get some VIP to speak at LeWeb, this year it’s gonna be Her Majesty the Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan that will speak at LeWeb Paris on December 10th.

After President Shimon Peres, President Nicolas Sarkozy, Designer Philippe Starck and Author Paulo Coelho we are honored to announce that Her Majesty will be our guest speaker from the non-tech universe at LeWeb this year. It’s a LeWeb tradition to be inspired by world class leaders and thinkers who share with us their agenda and how social software helps them.

LeWeb09, the biggest european web conference

LeWeb'09 - Register Now

Like every year Loïc & Géraldine Le Meur are putting up together the biggest web conference in Europe with more than 1800 participants from over 40 countries that will gather for 2 days for the most waited event in Europe: LeWeb09.

This event started in 2005 with 250 participants is now the place to be end of December if you have anything to do with Internet.
I’ve been part of it since the very beginning and always have been thrilled by the amazing work made by Loïc & Géraldine.

This year theme will be « Real-Time Web »:
The real time web is taking the world by storm! Twitter has grown exponentially in one year with an extremely simple service that does only one thing keep you in touch with what your friends are doing, in real time. Facebook entirely redesigned its most important assets, its home page and opened its feed to third parties.
Given the growth of the Twitter and Facebook ecosystems with thousands of applications and new uses, startups as well all major players are adapting their services to compete in this environment. There was the static web, the social web and now here comes a new web: the real-time web.

If it’s the first time you’ll ba attending this event, I strongly encourage you to prepare it in advance, identify who you wanna talk to/meet/present your start-up, send them pre-conference email, prepare a crap load of business cards, charge your laptop/camera, sleep the entire week before ’cause everything’s gonna go REALLY fast during those 2 days.

As an offical blogger this year, I’m really glad to be able to offer you a 10% discount on your registration fee, simply use the code BLOG09 while registering.

We’ll be providing certified digital IDs to French citizens with group La Poste

Today is a really big day for us as we just won with group La Poste a call for tender made by the French government and our secretary of state responsible for exploration and development of the digital economy in France: Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet.

Our project named IDenTIC will be providing certified digital identites to all the French citizens starting end of 2010 in partnership with group La Poste.

This is a huge opportunity for us to massively target a national market as group La Poste presence is all over the french territory through 17,000 post office.

The IDenTIC’s project brings together three partners with complementary skills: the group La Poste, MyID.is Certified and the CEREGE laboratory of the University of Poitiers, in order to develop an offer capable of providing to individuals a Certified Digital Identity (CDI). The innovation in IDenTIC’s project is both technological and organizational. It relies on one hand on an online crytped process and on the other hand on a face-to-face delivery of the CDI by an officer from the National Post Office. The uniqueness of the solution lies in the complementarity of the solution being both « click » and « mortar » with the encrypted process but also in verifying the identity in real life and the hand delivery of the CDI.

The digital identity certification is designed to enhance confidence in all online activities.

Web 2.0 has led to real development practices on the Internet through multiple forms of online participation. Creating profiles on digital social networks, blogs, multiple user accounts (usernames, e-mail, avatars …) associated with the publication of personal data, the growth of e-commerce or the number of online gamblers are at the forefront of the question of individual online identity. Some issues are particularly complex in particular regarding issues of identification when purchasing online, management of multiple identities or identity theft on the Web.

Recent initiatives through the Charter for the Promotion of authentication on the Internet show the need for authentication solutions adapted. It is in this context characterized both by strong demand from the Internet users and a real desire to state that the IDenTIC’s project fits.
